James Gatlin - Administrator
For James Gatlin, music isn’t just a background noise—it’s a lifelong pulse. A 60 year old Florida native with over 30 years of experience behind the decks as a DJ, James has seen the music industry evolve from vinyl records to streaming playlists. But along the way, he noticed something missing: authenticity.
Most modern radio stations are programmed by algorithms or corporate interests, often losing the "soul" of what makes music great. James had a vision to change that. He wanted to build a radio station that played real, authentic music—the kind that moves you.
However, he quickly ran into a million-dollar problem.
The Million-Dollar Barrier
When James first looked into launching a traditional FM radio station, the numbers were staggering. To secure the land, construct a physical building, and erect a broadcast tower, the price tag was estimated at roughly one million dollars.
Even with that massive investment, there was a significant catch: the reach. A traditional FM tower would limit his broadcast to a 50-mile radius. In an era where the world is more connected than ever, spending a million dollars to reach a few local zip codes didn't make sense.
James knew there had to be a better way to get the music he loved into the ears of people who needed it.
